Just a quick short update with a few final last-minute
details for you all to note.
Glider Licence in SA:
Overseas competitors will need to bring their current
gliding licence issued in their own country and a current medical, if flying a
South African registered glider. You
will then be issued with a temporary South African GPL.
Water filling facilities (i.e. hose pipes) are
available on the airfield. Please
bring whatever fittings you require to fit onto the hose pipes.
A tie-down area will be available, but please provide
your own pegs/rope/tie down equipment.
A reminder that your glider shall be covered by 3rd
party insurance for a minimum of R500,000.
Pilots are requested to provide written proof of insurance.
If you have no 3rd party cover with your existing hull
insurance, you may contact Cornerstone Risk Management on 011.678.8881 (Mr. Rob
Southern).
Participants (pilots and crew) should have a valid
insurance covering expenses related to injuries, sickness and accidents
(including return transportation, medical treatment, hospitalisation, etc.)
The Local Procedures are now available on the website:
www.sssa.org.za and are being sent to the
pilots with this Bulletin No. 3.
The list of turnpoints are now available on the SSSA
website www.sssa.org.za as
well as on John
Liebacher’s website
http://soaring.aerobatics.ws/TP
Refreshments and food will be available for purchase during the day, and on certain evenings there will also be food arranged and/or at the various functions.
