Bulletin 1 – 3 December 2007

First Entry

Our first entry this year was from Martin Atwill. Congratulations to Martin and we hereby extend an additional discount of R250 to you for being the first

entry.

Change in BFN / KBY TMA’s

We are awaiting final word if the published changes to the TMA’s will be implemented in December. Once Dick has clarity on this matter, we will publish the turn points.

Change in frequency

The change of Tempe from 124.8 to 131.3 has also been approved. Please ensure that your radios can operate on this frequency. Once again we await the final date for implementation.

Catering / Take Away’s

Breakfast, lunch and dinners will be available on the airfield like in the past few years.

Please consult the notice board for information.

Runways

After the rain we had, the runways were rolled for 2 days and the surfaces of all three the runways are a lot smoother. In the next week or so additional ground work will be done to level the end of runway 27.

Extensive negotiations has also been entered into with the Meerkats via their union COSATU to ensure that we limited the digging of holes on the runways. We hope for the best.

Tugs

We have secured 4 tugs for the Nationals. We are however still looking for one more tug. Your assistance would be appreciated.

SSSA

Please ensure that all your paperwork and fees are paid up, as you will not be allowed to fly in the Nationals without SSSA confirmation that you are in good standing. Sorry, but rules are rules.

Pilots meeting

All pilots must attend the pilots meeting on the 2nd of January 2008 at 18h00.

Cocktail function afterwards at the club for everybody.

Change in BFN / KBY TMA’s

The changes to the TMA’s will be implemented in December.  Dick will give a detailed briefing on the changes on the 2nd of January 2008.

Change in frequency

The change of Tempe from 124.8 to 131.3 has also been approved.  The change of frequency has taken place and 131.3 will also be used in the glider window.

Tugs

I am proud to announce that we will have 5 tugs available again this year.  With the help of John Attwell we have secured a Rally.  Thanks John!
